Hello and happy Friday to you,
Hope you had an amazing week! And I hope you have enjoyed dreaming and writing out your future last week. Now, we're moving On the step number 2. This step is going to be pretty simple. If you remember in my last blog I talked about how on January 1st Dr. Savelle challenged us to write out our goals we had for 2017 - and I did this challenge in the same day he gave the challenge. I'm sharing that with you all to say, these exercises don't take very long BUT they do yield GREAT RESULTS!
In fact, the week that this blog was originally drafted, I was enjoying seeing two goals that I set at the beginning of 2017. One result of that occurring is that one of my nieces came to Fort Worth during Terri Savelle Foy's Icing Conference and gave her life to the Lord! Glory to God - He is so faithful!
Again picking up from my story of how the Lord led me to map out a plan for 2017 on January 1st 2017... After I wrote out what I believed the Lord led me to write out about my eulogy, the next thing the Lord led me to do was to write out goals for the next 5 years. This step is what the Lord used as a guide for me to reach the life time goals He had given me. And this exercise makes the lifetime goals or the path seems a little more attainable when you break them down into smaller pieces.
Basically, what I did was look over what I wrote in my eulogy and asked myself with every point - what could I do in the next 5 years that will help me to attain _____ goal?? Then I wrote down what I believed God showed me that would look like.
And this all does still ties into the subject of FOCUS! Remember these steps may seem small or even tedious but they have yielded great results in the lives of my husband and I. I believe it can do the same for you!
Here is an example of how I did this —
One of the lifetime goals God has given me is to write several books. These books will be an encouragement to women of all ages but especially those in their 20’s.
So, I have written out a goal to have two books written within the next 5 years. Last year when I wrote out my 5 year goals, I had no idea that I would be writing a blog series called #FocusedFridays. I strongly believe that God gave me the assignment to write this series as a precursor to actually writing books.
I heard Terri Savelle Foy share on the latest episode of Live Your Dreams that released today. Watch here. “Vision always comes first, ideas come later.” I believe that perfectly sums up what will happen when you start writing out your 5 year goals!
And to close I'll leave you guys with some homework, send us one of your 5 year goals for accountability purposes and so that we, the TMLU team, can be in agreement with you guys!!
Love you guys and look forward to talking with you guys soon!
